We’re Engaged!

Smurf couple on top of our bedroom bookcase. In the center is the beautiful vintage ring box Daniel presented my engagement ring in when he proposed. (also, while you're looking, note the shirt tales figure in back, so cute!)

Daniel and I got engaged a couple weeks ago.. and we found these adorable bride and groom Smurf figurines.  Actually, we found them before we got officially engaged, but we couldn’t resist them. We already knew we wanted to be together.  Honestly, how in the world could I resist a guy who was kneeling down by a glass cabinet full of Smurfs (They’re not second hand.. we picked them up at Magic Mouse Toys in downtown Seattle) calling out ‘Yeah, we’ll take the Smurfette bride and one of the Smurf grooms over there’  Those words were music to my ears.

Laura and Daniel

Unfortunately, Daniel and I only had a few weeks together over the summer. We spent a great deal of time thrifting, and we had amazing luck. Now that I have time (more than enough time. Its driving me crazy. Really. ) I’ve decided to get back into blogging.  I simply have too much stuff not to justify posting some of it.  I can only hope that I’ll this kind of luck during the fall, but for now I’ve got so much material to write about, I really should catch up a bit first.  I must say that I’m surprised at the amount of MIB/MOC  toys we found this summer, I rarely would find even one a year. I acquired a couple  of 80’s Barbies, and two sets of Mattel Heart family dolls that looked like they’d stayed on the shelf for the past 15-20 years.  I guess for now I just have to find the motivation to attempt to begin the massive amount of pictures I must take, and creative words to find.. and due to my constant state of stress, that may prove to be a bit difficult.  Really though, I know you’re all excited to see treasures like Michael Jackson puffy stickers, right?
